Classic SCORPIONS Video Footage To Be Shown At Russia's KINOROCK Festival

March 31, 2005

Footage of German hard rockers SCORPIONS looking uncharacteristically unkempt and ratty performing in the "Red Corner" of the Leningradsky Rock Club in 1988 in front of a bust of Lenin is among the rarely-seen clips that will be unveilved this weekend at the second annual Kinorock festival at Stary Dom, according to The St. Petersburg Times.

Featuring videos, documentary films and live music, Kinorock provides an outlet for young and underground bands who have been relegated to the fringes of popular culture.

Kinorock will take place at Stary Dom on Saturday, April 2 from 6 p.m. through 11:30 p.m.

SCORPIONS recently extended their record contract with the German branch of Sony/BMG and are said to be planning a live DVD, tentatively due late May. The disc will reportedly contain live footage shot last summer in Vienna, Austria on the group's "Unbreakable World Tour" and is said to carry the working title of "One Night In Vienna". Bonus documentary footage covering the band's entire career will also be included.

SCORPIONS recently completed a North American tour in support of their latest album, "Unbreakable", which was released in the U.S. last June through Sanctuary Records. The CD was recorded at Peppermint Park Studio in Hannover, Germany and was mixed at Wisseloord studios in Hilversum, Holland. The band last year announced the addition of Polish bassist Pawel Maciwoda (SECTION 31, URBANATOR) to group's ranks.

SCORPIONS have just completed a U.K. tour as the support band for JUDAS PRIEST.
